TCS Written Test - Placement Paper August/September-2012
I frinds we all know that tcs has changed their database for its aptitude test.., here are the few questions from the new database

Hi friends one UandiStar Subscriber Mailed me the Following TCS Interview Process Occurred in his campus, here it for you
Hi all I am Surya attended TCS campus interview on 28th of august.Among 700 430+ students were short listed through written test
After that technical round which includes even MR interview and the final round is HR
and the results were announced on d next day 31 aug total 301 were selected and my name is the second one.......i felt very happy and i wanna share some of my experiences and my strict advice to anyone who are seeking for TCS just prepare previous papers because TCS written test is through touchstone database more than 1 lakh questions will be saved in that which are of same model with a difference in numericals. so just concentrate on previous papers. Iam sharing my interview experience... my interview went on like this.
Technical +MR
me: May I come in sir
int: yes
me: Good evening sir(wished)
int:Very good evening take your seat
me:thank you sir
int:Tell me about yourself
me:told
int:Why there is a decrease in % from intermediate to B.Tech
me:yes sir there is a fine decrement.Upto intermediate i used to concentrate on academics at that time my ultimate goal is gaining seat in a best college and i achieved it
int: Oh do you think KLCE is d best college?
me:YES sir
(Continued the question saying) The moment i entered into engineering i realized that for a student to become successful all round development should be there just the academics is not enough.Now i am a good public speaker,good communicator sir
int: Ohh then you are a good public speaker?
me:Yes sir
int:Who is your class topper and what is his/hers %
me:told
int:Then there is a variation of almost 10%
me:yes sir so what sir he may be excel in studies ....i may have d talent which he wont have i may excel in some other thing
int:Tell me about your projects.
me:told
int:You are from EEE background....do u know programming?
me:Yes sir i know programming in C & i know the basics of C++
int:Can u write any program in C?
me: yes sir i can write using pointers,structures,strings anyting.....
int: ohh can u write any simple program for me using pointers

int:Do u think the program is right
me:Yes sir
int:Tell me about your family background.....
me:told
int:why should i give job in your family already two people are earning?
me: Till now I studied because I can be helpful to my parents in their old age. I should help them when they are in need. I should not be dependent on them.and moreover i should stand on my own sir
int:so u wiil help ur parents only when they are in old age?
me:no sir not like that whenever they are in need i will be there...
int: Whom do you like most in your family
me:i like everyone sir
int:No u should answer to this..do u like your mother more or your father
me:No sir i cant differentiate between them i love them both
int:U should say unless i wont give you job
me:I like my father sir(gave some explanation)
int :Then u dont like ur mother?
me:No sir i love my mother a lot (gave some explanation)
int:Ur sister is doing in CTS.Then why do you prefer TCS
me:Because TCS is my dream sir. She may be interested in that company sir .Its her interest. But iam very much interested in joining TCS
int:Oh fine what will you do if i dont select you?
me:no sir i dont think u wont select me. Iam very confident sir u will select me.Eventhough if you dont select me i wont bother sir if it is not through campus I will go for off campus

me:there will a gap of minimum six months for getting the call letters...what languages should i learn for becoming excel in my job sir?
int:My better advice is just concentrate on ur core...it only helps you a lot

In this way my TR+MR round went on.In the evening 8 o clock results were anounced of TR and i am shortlisted for HR.Friends my suggestion is be bold brave and confident while giving answers.They only check for your confidence levels.
While interview they may confuse you but be confident and stand on one answer.Even in some cases they may put you in stress....have a smile always on your face while giving answers

me:yes sir iam emotional while watching movies sir......everyone will laugh at me but i cant control

me:In d past iam having inferiority complex sir but now i overcame that by mingling with others,going to parties,maintaining many friends sir

Hi i am Priyanka K.B. from EEE,SJCE Mysore.
The most eagerly awaited one, TCS had come to our college for recruitment on OCT 15th, 2011 ("the unforgettable day in my life").
Let me explain the selection process. TCS decided to have two different process and approaches for the selection process. One for those who have consistent performance from 10th onwards till the VI semester undergraduate engineering students (75% and above) and the same was also applicable to those from post graduate disciplines. These students were interviewed without being administered test. On the contrary, only those who had maintained consistent performance of 60% throughout were administered online test and were later interviewed.
I was under the 1st category. I had gone for direct interview. Friends before sharing my experience, please note these things. Don't neglect TCS interview process. We had a rumour that the TCS interview will be easy, we can easily get through. But it was not easy as we speak. Please do necessary preparations. Be thorough with your resume, C, C+, projects. This time TCS had given a wonderful opportunity that non CS stream students can get jobs in Core engineering services of TCS. So no need to worry as it's a IT company. Be proud to be a part of world's leading IT company. And for our batch specially, TCS is great, as they took more people during this recession period.
Technical interview:
ME: gud afternoon sir,
HR : good afternoon, take your seat.
Me : thank you sir.
Hr : asked my resume and TCS application form
Me : gave
(Most of questions were based on my resume, unfortunately Hr did not ask me d most awaited and prepared first ques..'tell me about yourself' !!!)
Hr : asked about my project i.e. UPS. Difference between My UPS and traditional UPS?
Me : explained.
Hr : Wat is energy audit? (one of my project)
Me : answered.
(I had mentioned only 'C' in my resume as i was not sure about C+ or other languages)
Hr : why oly C? Why not C+, 8051 ?? did not you study C+ outside by joining courses? Rate your C capability between 1 to 10.
Me : explained. Friends be honest. Being a electrical student i just gave 5 on 10 for my C capability. And i had added a sentence that i can learn again these languages.
Hr : appreciated my honesty. And gave me two puzzles to solve.
1) seven members are there in a room. Each one will give hand shake to others but only once. Find out the number of handshakes.
Me : i just asked a sheet of paper to solve, even though i knew the answer. And solved the puzzle in front of him.
The answer is 6+5+4+3+2+1=21
Hr : 2) consider a well of 100 mt depth and a frog at the bottom of the well. It climbs 3mt in day time n slides down 2mt during night. How many days it needs to climb the well?
Me : 1mt per day, on 98th day, it climbs up and does not slides down as it will be on the top of the well. So answer is 98(day time)
Hr : good. You can go.
Me : thank you sir.
Then i was waiting for my Hr interview. Many of my batchmates had sent to home in the mean while, as they could not do well in technical interview.
HR interview:
Hr : Hi Priyanka
Me : hello mam, gud afternoon. (I felt very happy and became more confident when hr said hi to me, as Hr is friendly. she was very sweet and bubbly. I think am the one, giving these best compliments to Hr )
Hr : gud afternoon, take your seat.
Me : thank you mam
Hr : where are you staying? Do you have siblings? Where does he work? Married?
Me : answered
Hr : are you ready to work anywhere?
Me : yes mam. (and this is the most common question in Hr round)
Hr : you can go
Me : I asked two questions about TCS. Actually i could not ask these questions in technical interview. So asked here
That's it my interview got over. I was confident as i will get place and it came true. Around 8.30 they announced the results.
Friends as you red, for me there were no deep technical questions, and most of the questions were unexpected like puzzles. I was good in solving puzzles and it's my luck also that i got puzzles. We cannot predict about interview questions, so be ready for everything.
